For their second year working with spokesperson Jennifer Lopez, Virgin Voyages created Jen A.I. – a virtual reality J. Lo with the power to invite family and friends to come aboard their ships and start cruising again.

We launched Jen A.I. with a humorous TV spot driving to a website where users could ask her to send customized invites with personalized names and itineraries.

Jen AI was accessible via a microsite, she got weekly updates of new occasions to celebrate, new names and new easter eggs.

How did Jen AI work?

Step 1: The Digital Concierge

First, users are greeted by a friendly, step-by-step form where Jennifer Lopez herself guides them through personalizing their cruise invite. By asking a few simple questions, J. Lo helps them lock in the important details—like who is coming, what they are celebrating, and where they want to sail.

Step 2: From Gen AI to Jen AI

To make the invites feel truly personal, we built a custom AI voice and video model trained on real J. Lo interviews and a 9,000-word script she recorded. When a user submits their info, our AI seamlessly generates new spoken clips of J. Lo saying their names and custom details. We specifically focused on making the voice model highly inclusive so it could accurately pronounce a wide, global variety of names.

Step 3: Assembly and Invitation

In under a minute, the system works its magic. It automatically stitches the video, J. Lo’s custom voiceover, music, and sound effects into one seamless clip. Because of our advanced speech model, J. Lo says the recipient's name flawlessly and speaks directly to their specific celebration and dream destination.

Future sailors can send this personalized video message straight from J. Lo to their friends and family, making the invite to book a cruise.
